From Saturday 22nd June the weather was starting to warm up so on the Monday I decided to take a trip over to Alner’s Gorse, the Butterfly Conservation reserve hoping to see some Butterflies and insects. The Butterflies round home were still few and far between except for the Meadow Brown’s so I was hoping to see a few more species.
I spent a couple of hours just wandering the site and was pleased to see plenty of Butterflies particularly the little Purple Hairstreak. I hope to get over there soon to see what else is about as there are still more wildflowers to come out and the summer is young!

Your butterfly captioned Small Skipper is another Large Skipper- small skipper is a more uniform orange colour lacking the brown mottling shown here. The moth below the Narrow-bordered 5-spot Burnet Moth is a Burnet Companion. Some nice photos.
Thank you once again Neil. I find it quite tricky to identify some of these Butterflies and insects.
