I always enjoy going to my friend Judy for a cup of tea! She only lives a couple of hundred yards from me in the same street but her garden is so different from my own. Mine is open onto fields, whilst Judy’s is a little reserve all on it’s own, the garden has large trees one side and her garden is full of large bushes. It’s great to sit with a friend on a hot day in the shade, enjoy a cup of tea and a good natter and watch the birds that come down to feed and live in her garden. It’s a little haven and they are used to Judy and her dog Timber in the garden and if we sit still there is so much to see. A little challenging for photography as there is quite heavy shade where they are feeding but I have my camera on my knee ready for anyone who visits!

The highlight for me are the Nuthatches feeding, they come down quite frequently to the feeders and usually go to a tree first before they come down, I still have to be quick as they move pretty quickly! One of them was a juvenile I think.

A little different from the birds a little Wood Mouse rummages around in and out of the grass and just peeps out, he must know we are there but as long as we don’t make sudden movements he stays there.

I can’t think of a better way to while away a hot afternoon.
