We could hear quite a bit of chain sawing and then spotted a bonfire down at Bere Marsh yesterday all day and I found out what was happening when I went on my morning walk. The Willow trees that had been damaged in the winter were cleared away along with the little Hedge Maples. I’ve taken many a picture of the group in different weathers and now they are gone. The Willows OK but I was sad to see the little Maple trees go as they were old but healthy, such is progress.

There has also been a lot of clearing of the ditches near the farm, last year Bere Marsh buildings were nearly under water, hopefully with the ditches clearer it will help the water get away if we have a wet winter.
