We’ve had a couple of trips out recently heading towards Poole harbour. The first was a visit to Arne hoping to see the White Tailed Eagle that had been active around the harbour for over a week. It was not to be but we had a walk around Coombe Heath which is always a pleasant walk. Unfortunately the tide was in so there weren’t many waders close to see. A birder said there were Black Tailed Godwits and Avocets but although I could see the birds I was unable to see them clearly.
The were few Cormorants around, some Mallards and a Little Egret feeding in the marsh area but not much else moving.

As we were walking over the Heath there were some Meadow Pipits in the scrub, which we enjoyed seeing. It was a little disappointing not seeing too much, but alway nice to wander round on a nice day.

Another day we wanted to go to Poole and we stopped off in Upton park for a short while, unfortunately it was a grey morning and quite chilly but we had a walk towards the harbour. There were lots of Wigeon moving around and a Little Egret but again fairly quiet.

There are some beautiful trees in the park and they attracts lots of birds we saw quite a few in the short time we were there, Jays collecting food, Bullfinches, Coal, Blue, Great Tits, Nuthatches, Blackbirds, Goldfinches and of course Robins. There was also a cheeky Grey Squirrel who came close, used to the people around I suppose.
