I nearly forgot to write about seeing a Glossy Ibis recently and how could I forget! My excuse is being a little busy with various things! 

Rod and I popped to Catcott Nature reserve in Somerset, we wanted to take our camper van for a run as it hadn’t been very far in a while. The weather was a little changeable when we headed off but when we reached Catcott it was sunny. While Rod brewed a cup of tea I went to the viewing screen to see what was about, there was another couple there and they pointed out the Glossy Ibis, close to the screen feeding on the grass. I took some images before I went for a cup of tea. I was pleased I did as he disappeared afterwards and never came back while we were there. When I first saw them there was only a couple in the country and now there are quite a few spread around the south including Poole way. Another visitor who may make it their home and start breeding.

We went for a walk round Catcott lows after lunch but by this time the weather had changed and it became very dull, not good for taking pictures but great to explore. There were a few birds about, various ducks of course, a Marsh Harrier who landed in the reeds. A Great White Egret in the shallow water, a Kestrel Hovering above and a Buzzard in the tree, but other than that not too much about but as always it was great to be on the Levels again.
