Night time in the garden

The Hedgehog is still coming in regularly for the food we leave out for her, slowly getting earlier as the nights draw in a little each night. Kim and I are often glued to the conservatory door waiting for her to sprint across the patio! Somebody else for me to worry about I do hope she survives I think she was struggling a little when we first saw her in the light of day, it was very dry at the time and maybe the food was scarce. Any way we are doing the best for her.Hedgehog

Also when we are waiting for her we have noticed Bats flying around, I’m not sure what species they are but they zoom around the garden feeding on the wing.

We also know Foxes regularly pass by us in the field below our garden, I haven’t spotted them yet as I am in bed too early but my neighbour sees them when he is letting their little dog Tammy out in the night. We often hear Tawny owls close to home which we listen to when we are in bed with the window open. I’m sure there must be other creatures who use the night to hunt and forage in and around our garden.

Our day time turns into another world at night, we just get a small glimpse of it at dusk and dawn.
