We went for a trip to Somerset on 13th July to Somerset and we stopped off on Walton Hill. Walton Hill is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest near Street at the south-eastern end of the Polden Hills. It is a ridge of chalky grassland which overlooks the Somerset Levels on one side and views to Glastonbury Tor on the other side.

We only stopped to have a cup of tea and then had a little walk across the downland. In a short time we saw many of the butterflies and insects that live on the chalkland and I managed to get some pictures of  a few of the inhabitants including Marble White butterflies, Skippers, Grasshoppers and Crickets. It was amazing the interesting wildlife we saw on the piece of grassland in such a short time.
