Silver Washed Fritillaries

On a small, quiet country road bordered by an old woodland in North Dorset a colony of Silver Washed Fritillaries live, my friend Judy took me there in mid August, she had seen them when she lived in the area and they were still there. So pleased to see them by the side of the road, also seeing an unusual Valezina female which occurs in a small percentage of the species. They are getting a little tatty now but lovely to see.
