It’s still fairly quiet in the mornings when we are out and about, but Tilly and I are out before dawn; the daylight hours are creeping inwards. I have noticed a little more bird activity, I’m assuming they are coming out of their moult. Robin has been singing and our little Dunnock in the garden has been declaring itself on top of our Hazel bush in the garden.

Tilly is now able to walk as usual so we are enjoying our usual haunts, I was pleased to see the little Roe buck with one antler under the hill towards Shroton Brake.

Taking the path back to Child Okeford I passed Dove Cote Farm where I see the Peacocks, or hear them! I was pleased to see a baby Peacock with mum and dad, I think, as the males have lost their lovely tail feathers at the moment.

As we were nearing the village I spotted a Roe doe and she had twins they didn’t stay around too long and disappeared into the next field. I’ve seen them on a number of occasions in this area, once in a garden, I hope they didn’t do any damage!

I put my infrared camera (sorry not level!) out last night to see what Hedgehog action there was, I feed and water them every night as a supplement to their natural food. It looks like we may have at least three different hogs coming in a big male and a fairly big and smaller female. I hoping the may hibernate this year as I was feeding throughout the winter last year! I’m still hoping to see some babies but no luck so far.
