We are lucky to live on the edge of the village and overlook fields at the back of the house and we always keep an eye out for any wildlife. We are still seeing a large flock (if that’s what you call them) of Pheasants, a couple of Cock Pheasants and lots of ladies, at times they are in the next door’s garden strutting about as though they own the place. They don’t come in our garden probably because of our dogs!
Anyway I looked out of the kitchen window just after lunch and was surprised to see the Roe deer close to the garden fence. We regularly see them in the field but to see them so close especially at that time of day. I saw the Buck and one Doe. I wanted to get a picture of them but didn’t want to spook them so I went upstairs and opened the velux window in the bedroom and had a great view of them. It was then I noticed the three. There was a dead deer, knocked over by a vehicle we presume, on Station road a couple of weeks ago and we assumed it was one of the three we see regularly but was so pleased to see the three.
I watched them for a while as they grazed and they slowly moved towards the hedge and disappeared.
