Well it was different weather this morning from what we have been having. It was a little chilly and the mist was coming off of the river and a glorious sunrise.
There seemed to be much more activity with the birdlife. I saw a Wren in the bushes and great and blue tits besides others, they seemed to have been keeping a low profile lately. A large Buzzard flew across Bere Marsh, I think it must be his territory as I’ve seen him a few times lately.
When I got over to Bere Marsh I noticed there were a number of Swallows and Martins gathering on the wires, looking like musical notes! This is making me realise that they will soon be on their way to Africa and autumn will soon be on us. They collect and seem to feed, chat and flex their wings and preen themselves ready for the journey!
