More floods

Friday 14th February and another break in the weather around dawn. When I got up I could see the sky colouring up for sunrise so I headed down to Shillingstone to try and get some sunrise pictures. I was surprised when I got there that the Stour had burst it’s banks once again. I shouldn’t have really been surprised as we had heavy rain overnight and because the fields are so wet the river level soon rises.

A nice sunrise and then I walked along the Trailway past the station towards Shillingstone. The birds were active again I spotted a Jay, Pied Wagtails and a large flock of Goldfinches in the hedgerow besides many others.

I walked towards Haywards bridge on the road to look at the floods and I was lucky enough to see two Grey Wagtails on the edge of the bridge stonework.
