Saturday March 14th and a morning walk along the North Dorset Trailway and up towards New Cross. It’s still a little wet even on the slopes of the field. The Buzzard was sat on the hedge just keeping an eye on me and looking for his early morning meal.

There is activity in the Heronry, at least three pairs I could see on nests and birds coming in and out, although the Heronry is well camouflaged and it is not easy to see how many birds are about.

I’m seeing a few Song Thrushes along the Trailway singing in the hedgerows and trees, I can’t remember seeing so many when I have been out and about.
