The 24th March and the reality of the Covid 19 virus has really started to affect our lives, we are now in a lock down situation where we have to stay at home except except for essential shopping, medical reasons, essential work and one form of exercise outside the house once a day with your household members and keeping a 2 metre distance from anyone else.
I go on my early morning walk as usual for the start of my one a day. Today I decided to head up Hambledon Hill, my favourite place, I consider myself very lucky to live where I do and have access to the countryside around the village unlike many people living in towns and cities. Even so you become aware of going through gates and cross infection it’s such a horrible virus. On this circular walk I have to go through around 15 gates, first time I have ever had to think of this!

It was quite hazy across the vale but as always it was great to be up there. It made me realise how our world will narrowed for a while but it is worth having the patience, many other people are putting their lives on the line for all of us.

As I came down the hill I noticed that the leaves on the Horse Chestnut trees were emerging, the natural world is still carrying on regardless, even in these times there is plenty to enjoy.
