At this time of year it is difficult to find river walks close to home, one of the fields I usually walk the Stour is now full of sheep and lambs so I will stay away until the field is empty again. The only walk I could think of is Netmead field which edges the Stour close to home. It is well used by dog walkers so I usually stay away. It was a little disappointing as it was so overgrown at the waters edge that you couldn’t see the river, it was only in a couple of places could you get a glimpse. On the way down to Netmead I spotted a female Blackcap high in the trees.

But none the less I managed to spot a couple of Reed Buntings just above the reeds, they are usually chattering in the under growth and I never see them but today there was a male and female showing.

Another gap in the river bank and I spotted a Reed Warbler tucked into the bank so all was not lost on my walk round Netmead field.

Just a Grey Squirrel on my way back home!
