A bit of a mixture the morning of 12th July, I noticed the mist forming when I got up and decided on a walk up Hambledon Hill. I couldn’t get a landscape image I was happy with, even with the mist, but lots of wildlife so a lovely morning. The cattle are roaming the hill and I do love the White Parks but always treat them with respect, they seem to be content to have a look at us and then carry on grazing.

As I climbed up the Bridleway I noticed a Buzzard in the tree below me.

There were a pair of birds in one of the bushes at the top, I wasn’t sure what they were until I got home and identified them as juvenile Linnets.

The Skylarks as always were active singing above the hill always good to hear and also a glimpse of some on the ground and on a marker post.

As I descended the hill on the bridleway going towards Markstone Cottages I noticed a number of Yellowhammers in the bushes they were really singing there hearts out and one posed for me, beautiful little birds.

None of my walks are ever the same, what I expect to see is not always what I do see but it’s not very often I’m disappointed and today was a good one!
