I went up Okeford hill on the 1st August for a change in the morning from walks close to home to look for roosting Butterflies again, particularly blues, last summer there were plenty up there so I hoped I’d have a chance. The large fields on the top of the hill near Bonsley have wildlife margins all around them and so lots of good habitat.
I spotted what I think is a Burnet moth, very faded or a species I don’t know.

No luck with the roosting Butterflies although as I was going back to the car park I saw a lovely Common Blue in pristine condition warming itself in the sun.

A friendly Robin as always!
