I’m certainly enjoying my walks around the village at the moment with the dogs on our daily walk. There is always something to see in the hedgerows and trees, even if I don’t get a photo at the time! I usually carry my camera at the moment, just in case!
I’ve been seeing the little Meadow Pipits regularly, only a small number but lovely to see so close to the village.

The deer are easy to spot at the moment with all the vegetation close to the ground and the hedges easy to see through. The buck below was lying in the field next to one of our many lanes, Netmead, I’m sure he knew we were there but he wasn’t too worried about us as long as we kept to the lane.

I’m seeing and hearing the Song Thrushes regularly especially in the early morning, singing in the tops of trees. I just managed to spot one on the ground looking for worms.

There are still Redstarts about, not as many as earlier in the year but still a few in various places, the first you know of them is when they all fly from the trees in front of you, they are very nervous of people.

Plenty happening in the garden as well the Sparrows are busy in the garden checking out the nest boxes, although not nest building I’m sure it won’t be too long before they are very busy.

Besides other birds there are plenty of Blackbirds enjoying all the facilities I provide!

The Hedgehogs are coming in most nights, I think we may have three visiting now.
