It appeared to be a nice morning around dawn on Thursday 22nd April so I decided I would go and see if I could see the Hares before the hedges filled in as the leaves were coming out rapidly. Well I didn’t realise how cold it was and when I got to the top of the hills there was a really icy cold wind which blew straight through instead of around! I consider myself quite hardy as I enjoy an early winter walk, but the wind was something else! I have to admit it took me most of the morning to warm up after I got home!

I saw Hares but like the one in the image they didn’t think much of the cold weather either, this one was still in the same position when I came back from a little tour around. I took Tilly to a footpath close by so she could have a walk.

On the way to the footpath there is a steep valley to drive down I could see Sheep on one side of the slope and then I saw a single white animal on the other side, I thought it was strange on it’s own. I stopped the car and realised it was a Leucistic Fallow Deer Hind with three other ‘normal’ deer. I was really excited to see her. I had my camera ready and got out of the car, I thought they might disappear, but although they knew I was there they slowly moved to the cover and I managed to get some images. A few minutes either side and I would have missed them, so lucky!
