Greenway Lane – Early July

Well into July now and I have been busy with various things so I’m a bit slow to update my nature diary. I have still been going up and down Greenway Lane with or without the dogs, sometimes in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon and I take the camera with me, if I don’t I’m sure to miss something special!

I’ve put together several days and at least two weeks of sightings of insects and little creatures, as always things change and something different comes along. I have tried to name the creatures and may have got some wrong or incomplete, always willing to have some help identifying any of them. I have decided that in the winter I’m going to look over my photos of Greenway Lane I have taken over the last couple of years and get them together in one place as a slideshow or something and just see what I have come across just in this small lane.

I’ve been inspired by a lady called Penny Metal who has published a book of her findings in a small London Park in Peckham. It’s an amazing record of one busy park and the life that goes on there which normally no one notices. The book she has put together of all ‘the residents’ is a great read, yes you can actually read it and the images she has taken are beautiful. The book is called Inesectinside by Penny Metal it’s great reference book as well. https://insectinside.me/category/penny-metal/
