The cold weather continues with a mixture of rain and sleet here in Dorset with a little sunshine and very cold winds. Lucy didn’t want to go out for a walk first thing so I took her out mid morning. It was lovely and sunny by then and I was hoping to take a few bird photos, but it wasn’t to be there were plenty singing in the hedgerows but either they moved too fast or didn’t show themselves!

I was just walking up the field close to home when I noticed a small flock of birds in the Oak avenue of trees. I wasn’t sure what they were but I suspected they were Redwings. I managed to get a picture before they flew off and when I downloaded the pictures that’s what they were. Beautiful looking birds with their markings. A sure sign of the cold weather with them close to the village.
