Just when we think it can’t get colder it gets even colder! We are really into a cld spell at the moment something we haven’t experienced in Dorset these last few years. Although nature still thinks spring is on the way. The Rooks appear to be building there nests, the Robins are getting territorial and I watched a House Sparrow collecting downy feathers from our front garden this morning. The Hazel catkins are looking ready to spread their pollen, too early!

We are having some lovely sunrises, although it’s difficult getting out of bed in the mornings at the moment. I can see the frost on Hambledon Hill from my bed.

Yesterday morning we woke up with a covering of snow which was quite a surprise, the rest of the country have had some but we had missed it up until then. It wasn’t much and just caused some disruption in the morning, by lunch time it was just a memory.

The Redwings are still feeding in the field at the back of the house, they are lovely to see.
