Another month has nearly ended and we are slipping slowly into autumn. After a wet spell the weather has been beautiful with lovely sunrises and sunsets. Yesterday morning I was going on a trip to Brownsea Island with friends, so an earlier walk than usual, out at 6am. Just getting light now at that time, the days are getting so much shorter. Always a positive I saw the Barn Owl at Bere Marsh he was still out hunting along the trailway.

There are still Martins and Swallows about in this lovely weather, just passing through I think. I often see a Heron patrolling the river bank and we have spotted a Little Grebe at Hayward’s bridge, the first one I’ve seen locally.
We had a lovely day on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour and were lucky to see the Red Squirrels busily hiding nuts for the winter, a special day, more pictures on my Photography Blog soon.
