A mixed bag this morning, a blustery day with storms about so the light and landscape changed quickly over the hour I was out with the dogs.
I went out at 6.30 so it would be a half an hour until I saw the sun. It felt quite chilly in the wind and I got rained upon a couple of times! I walked towards Netmead field and as always had my eyes everywhere, it was a good job as there were at least three deer grazing in the field so I managed to steer the dogs away without them seeing or scenting them.
As I crossed over to Bere Marsh a Heron flew across looking very prehistoric, it always amazes me how they can fly. Then the dawn came and the light was lovely colouring the sky, but it only lasted a few minutes. There was a Kestrel hovering over Hayward’s bridge, he was there for some time then flew away, no luck in getting breakfast! The sun rose at the back of Hod Hill and the sky opposite towards Hazelbury Bryan was as black as night and there was a rainbow over Bere Marsh Farm, it seem to follow me over the field until it disappeared. The sunlight was also shining on the Willow trees by the footbridge they seem to be more silver before they turn yellow and fall off and they looked lovely with the early sun hitting them. Then as I made my way up the field home there were flocks of seagulls passing over and the sunlight caught them as they dipped and dived giving a sparkling show!
