Sunrise 07:31 Sunset 16:17
My early morning walks are getting more interesting now we are well into autumn, besides the wonderful colours in the trees this year the weather has been kind although we have had a few frosts. Of course I am now getting up much later as the sunrise is now around 7.30 in the morning so I go out about seven. The Barn Owl is still about (see my previous post) and I often hear Tawny Owls close.

The Birds are very active and I see many different species including Kestrel, Buzzards, Magpies, Jays, Greater Spotted Woodpeckers to name a few but also many small birds although it is sometimes tricky to see what they are in the early light.

There are a small flock of Redwings along the trailway helping themselves to all the berries on the bushes, a sure sign that winter is on the way.

I saw the Roe Buck in the field near New Cross he was quite nervous but I managed to get a picture of him before he disappeared.

There seems to be quite a number of Wrens about in groups and i just managed to get a picture of one in the early morning sunshine (about 3 seconds worth!) this morning.

These swans were swimming under the footbridge when Kim and I went across to Bere Marsh Farm.
