At last a lovely morning a light frost, no wind and light cloud with blue skies. It didn’t last but it was lovely while it lasted!
The floods have at last receded, yesterday I managed to get to the footbridge but this morning I made it across to Haywards bridge and Shillingstone. Something we haven’t been able to do since before Christmas, except by the road. I ended up being out on my walk with the dogs for two and a half hours, I was enjoying it so much. I took my camera and took a few pictures of the changes.

There is so much debris about, all the fences are draped in old grass hanging like washing! I found this bucket below hanging on a branch full of water, how this happened I don’t know!

I was sorry to find one of my favourite trees had succumbed to the weather, as you cross the footbridge there are three trees in front of you by the side of the footpath, a willow and two hedge maples. The large Willow had split completely and was a sorry sight. I know they regrow and I hope all of it is not removed but the group is something I have photographed many times before.

The trees now taken from the opposite direction, showing the poor old Willow tree. It was pretty gnarled and had been in the wars before whether there is any life left I will have to wait and see.
