A better day today if you got out of the brisk wind, you could almost think it was really spring; the sun was shining although there were a few sharp showers about.
We are seeing changes all the time when we walk with the dogs. The Celandines are coming out in flower giving a little colour in the fields and hedgerows.
We walked down to the fields by the river and the river has gone back in it’s banks for now. when we were walking where the floods had been a day ago I noticed something in the grass and realised it was Frog spawn. The frog had laid it’s eggs in the floodwater and when the water had receded they were out in the open. They were still nice and moist. I picked what I could of the clump up and put it in the edge of the stream where there wasn’t much flow, they might have a little chance of surviving, more than out in the drying meadow.
The water in the stream has cleared and we noticed lots of small fish swimming about either Minnows or Sticklebacks, its amazing how things soon bounce back. Little by little things are improving!
