On Sunday 24th February I decided I would have a change from my usual walk. It wasn’t quite so foggy as previous days but still a little murky rather than misty with temperatures of around 0.5 °C. The sky was really clear and blue around sunrise and it stayed that way for the day, a really warm day for the time of year, little different from this time last year when we had ‘Beast from the East’ with the snow and freezing cold temperatures.
On the way to the hill I had a real surprise and I’m 95% sure I saw three Hares in a local field. I was unable to stop the car. I’m going to check it out another day it will be exciting if there are some there.
When I got up the hill it was murky in the valley but I managed to get a few landscape pictures and then went for a walk in the woodland. I was pleased to see quite a few birds active on the edge of the wood.
It was so nice to see a few Yellow Hammers enjoying a patch of Gorse on the edge of the field.
We disturbed three Roe deer in the wood, there was two does and a buck.
It was lovely to see the Skylarks above the fields, there were many birds singing above me and Tilly. I do love to hear them and I even managed to spot some as the soared above us.
