I have been keeping my eye on the cattle and sheep as I go on my walk round Chisel farm and Melways lane. The cattle have been having their calves for a little while but on the 8th April I was still waiting for the Lambs to appear. I saw Andrew who works on the farm with the cattle and he said the sheep had just started lambing and I may see a couple when I got towards the fields in Melways that morning.

Sure enough when I got down the lane I spotted a few families in the field and more than he said, a few had been born overnight. They are lucky as the weather is good at the moment. I just love seeing them as part of the cycle of the year and a promise of the better weather to come.
