A damp morning once again and I didn’t see much on my walks this morning although there were plenty of little birds about. It’s very wet walking through the long grass as it’s so long, I would think the farmers would like a spell of dry weather now.

I am really excited when I took Lucy out instead of heading towards the ‘Crosses’ fields I went towards the footbridge over the river and I was looking at a Heron flying high when something flew up by the river bank, it wasn’t white enough or flying right for an Egret, I realised it was a Barn Owl. I was surprised to see it as the grass was very wet so I’m hoping it is feeding young. I confirmed the siting with a gentleman from Bere Marsh who had seen it himself. I am so pleased as I thought the winter had finished them off so I’m going to keep my eyes peeled and my camera ready!
