A week into August already and on Friday 7th August I decided to take a trip over to Duncliffe in the early morning Around dawn with Tilly. I still had a mind to take some images of roosting Butterflies. There is a wildflower meadow in front of Duncliffe wood and I remember from last year it was a good place for Butterflies and insects.
I wasn’t to be disappointed as the first thing I saw as I approached the meadow was a Common Blue butterfly roosting on the grass at the edge of the path.

I took a picture of a Common blue in it’s environment in the lovely misty dawn they are tiny little butterflies and not too easy to spot.
I spent another hour taking pictures of the butterflies covered in dew, I saw a few but not any other species. I really enjoyed capturing them and hope to do some more in the future.
