On 26th February I decided to carry my camera when we went for an afternoon walk with the dogs, we would be walking round to the field where I saw the Black Redstart. I was hoping perhaps to see a male, but no luck, but the female was still there and I’ve seen her a few times when I’ve been that way.

I saw some other little birds in the grass and I couldn’t quite make out what they were, as usual I took some images with my zoom lens and so when I got them on the computer saw they were possibly Meadow Pipits, again I asked in the UK Bird identification Facebook page and they confirmed that’s what they were.

As the weather is improving and we are getting a little sunshine we are seeing some early Butterflies,I had a quick glimpse of a Brimstone, a Peacock and a Red Admiral who helpfully settled on some scrub.

Love the little Dunnocks and their sweet song!
