Oh it is getting darker in the mornings and of course earlier in the evenings now. I have been slowly getting up later and later it’s now 7 o’clock! This morning there was a promise of mist and fog but when I first got up, none! As I went for a walk and the sun began to rise the mist rolled in from the river and fields surrounding it, but only a light mist. There was a little colour in the sky which only lasted a couple of minutes. and then the clouds came in.
The Buzzard was flying around the field near the footbridge inspecting the soil where the trees have come out. Lucy likes to rummage as well hoping for a nice tit bit! The Heron is fishing on the little stream, the river is higher due to the recent rain. We walked up towards New Cross, I was hoping for a nice view, which we had, the mist was lying in layers over Hambledon Hill and it looked very spectacular but difficult to capture it in an image. I must carry my tripod and filters as the light is not good now the autumn is progressing, it’s difficult to get a fast enough shutter speed in the available light and my 7D’s ISO range is not good.
I nearly abandoned Lucy! I attached her to a disc harrow as we were near the road while I took a photograph, me and Kim started off down the hill and I looked back a realised I’d left Lucy. She is suffering from trauma now!!!

There was a deer in the distance but too far away for the dogs to scent or see it, I spotted it when we walked up the hill and it was still there on our return.
It looks like they have done some work on the pond at Bere Marsh, it’s now deeper and there looks like they have formed a platform for a marshy area, it will be good to see what develops. From a photographers point of view I hope they don’t upgrade the sheds as they make good subjects but they are slowly falling down, we shall see.

Still we are seeing Swallows and Martins around, as we were eating our dinner looking over the fields a flock passed by on the way to the coast I presume, hopefully they’ll get away tonight the weather forecast for tomorrow is heavy rain all day.
