Saturday 31st August

Sunrise 06.20 Sunset 19.56

Cloud and chillier than it has been in the morning, but clearing of to a warm sunny day once again.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get up this morning, I could feel a slight chill in the bedroom but I braved the elements and got myself up at my usual time! Once I was out it didn’t seem too bad I’m sure it will get colder than this!

The first thing I heard when I was walking down the lane was the mewing of a Buzzard, I couldn’t spot him he may have been flying high. We just got over the footbridge and in the field was a deer I managed to get the dogs on the leads and take a couple of pictures, they didn’t even spot it…phew! It’s not easy holding onto two dogs and trying to focus on a subject.

We moved on to Bere Marsh and there were four Egrets flying around, they eventually landed in a tree overlooking the river. On the way back the deer was still in the field but it spotted us and disappeared down the river bank probably to swim over to the other side, just where we were going to walk so I had to keep my eyes peeled. The dogs didn’t even know and we got home no problem.
