It’s hard to keep up with everything at the moment, everything is growing so fast. The weather has been quite changeable with some warm days and some back to winter again.
I see the Herons and Little Egrets flying to and from the Heronry early in the morning they are very busy. The Heronry and Rookeries are now well hidden as the leaves are fully out on the trees, all you can hear are the birds themselves.
The buttercups are well out in the meadow by the river, the farmer tried to get rid of them a couple of years ago but they are back to full strength again this year.

The little Spinney at the bottom of our lane is always a good spot to see wildlife, the Banded Demoiselles are flying around there now and there are always plenty of birds. A nest of Long Tailed tits fledged last evening and mum and dad were busy trying to keep the brood together and feed them, by all the noise there must have been a few.
There are also Blackcaps in the trees, very busy so it’s difficult to get a picture of them. The Greater Spotted woodpecker is also about I can hear the calls but very difficult to spot. A Jay flew into the trees and I attempted to get a picture I wasn’t sure I had one as it was very dark under the canopy until I got home. Probably the best one I have so far they are very nervous birds.

The river has started to clear and I am noticing the Chubb from the footbridge, it looks like there are still a few good sized ones swimming around.

The Roe deer are very active, they seem well spread out and hidden by the long grass. I never know when I am going to see one this buck was near Bere Marsh Farm early in the morning. Not a brilliant picture as it was quite dark.
