At last the mornings and evenings are getting lighter but the weather has turned very cold in the last few days. I worry about the Hedgehog still visiting the garden, he has got this far through the winter I hope we can keep him going until the better weather. I make sure there is food and water out every night although some nights he gives us a miss. He still looks for the mealworms, I bought him some special moist food but he won’t touch it.

I see the Barn Owl most days on my early morning walk with Kim, always a special sight and sometimes the pair are out hunting. It still isn’t light enough to take pictures although I did try. Hopefully they will have young again this summer and will be hunting for longer.

The birds are changing their song optimistic that spring is on the way. I usually hear the Blackbird singing before I get out of bed, he feeds on any mealworms that the Hedgehog leaves, nothing is wasted.

I walked up near the Heronry and noticed it was very active I saw nine Egrets flying away in the morning and Herons circling the Heronry like Pterodactyls. The Roe deer are also about we are seeing them more again.
