April

Still trying to get back on track, I succumbed to the dreaded cold virus and I’ve struggled to get the enthusiasm… Poor old soul!!! Hopefully now nearly at the end of April I’m feeling myself again.

Anyway nature doesn’t wait for any one and spring is now well on it’s way. We have had our fair share  of rain this month and it has been very cold so it has slowed things up a bit towards the end of the month.

Early April, the weather didn’t know what to do, from torrential rain to a couple of nice days back to cold winds and showers. The image below shows the height of the floods near Bere Marsh after torrential rain overnight, the flood came and receded in a day but left all the grasses hanging on the fence, it must have been really deep.

I am still getting used to my night camera and I am pleased that I captured a Fox at the bottom of the garden, just short glimpses but it was worth it.

The Heron’s and Little Egrets having been busy nest building in the Heronry all month they are slowly disappearing into the undergrowth as the leaves come out.
