Hambledon Hill

Everything is springing into life on Hambledon Hill now in early June, if you see the hill from a distance it looks golden even if the sun’s not on it, the Cowslips have faded now so it’s not them but when I went up there I noticed that the Yellow Rattle is covering large area of the hill side and and also Common Rock Rose and Bird’s Foot Trefoil are all turning the hill yellow.

The Common Spotted Orchids are now coming out now and many other flowers which I took photos of on my early morning walk. The herald of June, the Dog Rose is covering the hedgerows and one of my favourites Quaking grass is covering the slopes.

Just a few of the flowers on the hill at the moment.

There are plenty of birds about although difficult to see in the abundance of foliage. The Buzzard was surveying the landscape below him from the top of the hill.
