Another pleasant day, no sign of any showers although a little cloudier in the afternoon. There is promise of rain and possibly thunderstorms in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Rod wanted to go into town so we decided to walk along the river in the Stour meadows for a little while and see what was about. We were hoping to see Otters of course but I think it was too warm for them and we didn’t see a Kingfisher. It is getting more difficult to see through all the foliage on the banks. It didn’t really matter as there were plenty of birds about including the Grey wagtail who enjoys the edges of the river. We spotted lots of Swifts flying over the old part of Blandford they must nest in some of the old Georgian buildings we were watching them as we walked through town, I wonder how many people notice them?
We walked towards the bypass, the river is running very well and in the shallows where there is a gravel bed we spot hundreds of tiny fish newly hatched out a sign the river is healthy. We also saw the first Damsel flies of the season, the weather is warming up at last!

As we walked back to the car I took some photos of two spaniels enjoying themselves in the water, they were having some fun!
