Sunrise Sunset

Fog coming in just before dawn but clearing to a hot sunny day as was yesterday.

We went on our evening walk later than usual, the sun had already set and the sunset had been lovely. I’m pleased we did as it was very ‘busy’. As we got down to the footbridge over the Stour two herons were flying down river and they veered off over to Shillingstone then a Kingfisher flew down the length of the river. I wish I knew where he fished to watch him, although we don’t have much access to the river here.

I was just walking off the bridge and heard a noise and some martins flew in were scooping water from the river and I’m sure catching the flies that were about. We still haven’t seen any major gatherings yet.

As we walked up the lane there was lots of action. Magpies chattering in the trees and robins declaring their territory. A Tawny owl also started calling I was hoping to see him but the hedges are too tall and still in leaf. As we got home there was a bat flying around, we always see them in our street this time of the year, I’m not sure where they roost.

All in all an interesting walk.
